OUR HISTORY

Dr. MarkAnthony Anumah

Dr. Mark Anthony Anumah was born 9th of July 1961, lived for 48 years and died 9th of September 2009.

He was a paediatric Surgeon and took his job much more than a career but as a vocation, a way of extending the love of Christ to others. His dream and passion while he was alive was “how the voiceless and the faceless Nigerians could get specialist and quality healthcare”.
The good Lord has kept this dream alive

Professor Felicia Ohunene Anumah

Felicia was the wife of Mark Anthony Anumah. Mark was a unique and great companion.

He understood marriage as a covenant relationship between two covenant people so that God could be the apex of the triangle where the married partners form the base. He saw me above the wife of the world, a co-heir in God’s kingdom (1 Peter 3:7), through our 15 years of marriage before the Lord took him to Himself on the 9th of September 2009.
Mark saw marriage relationship as a big responsibility towards God who must be pleased. He often said “it is not about me or you, it is about God”. He treated me as an equal since we were co-heirs in God’s kingdom and lived his marriage life bearing in mind all the time the directive of Saint Paul in Ephesians 5:21 that Christians should submit themselves to one another out of reverence for Christ. Mark had a very stable and confident personality; my dream of becoming a Professor of Medicine was never a threat to his ego as a man, rather he was quite comfortable with it and encouraged me tremendously and generously to the level of Associate Professor of Medicine & Endocrinology in 2007 in Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, 2 years before his death. The Wind Suddenly Blew the Candle Off Mark’s death came suddenly like a thunderbolt at night and ruthlessly parted us, lacerating my heart, tearing a gaping hole in my spirit, making me feel alone and my whole basis for living all washed away. This tearing asunder took place at such a deep level that no superficial human therapy could bring about healing. The healing love of God gradually worked in me (Halleluyah). He gradually let me know that nothing should separate me from His love, not even the death of MARK (Romans 8:35-39).

Mark Anumah Medical Mission (MAMM)

The Lord brought Mark’s dream out to me clearly after his death, and on the first anniversary after he left me and his cherished four children, to be with his Lord and Master, we flagged off a medical mission in his name:
Mark Anumah Medical Mission (MAMM)on the 11th of September 2010.
